Weight pull

The Weight pull is open to all ages and all well-behaved dogs.

People are encouraged to practice at home with their pet dog, then come out and compete with their own sleds and dogs against others in their age group and dog size category. Theoretically, this race is for kids and the family pet. However, in the past it has included everyone from a ninety-year-old man with a borrowed sled dog to a Chihuahua pulling “Klondike Barbie.”

Usually there is a spare sled help out at this event. If you have a sled available please contact the Weight pull Chair on Saturday morning, or just simply show up at the racecourse at about 12:30.

All entrants will run the course individually against the clock, with the best time winning.
Race length: approximately 10 yards.

The following equipment will be available to borrow: sleds, harnesses.
All adult competitors must sign a waiver, and all children must have an adult or guardian sign a waiver.

Location:
The weight pull arena is near the start/finish line of the main races.

Registration:
Saturday morning, before the race. From 10:00 am until 11:45 am, near the weight pull arena. Look for signs.

Entry Fee:
None. This is free of charge to all participants.

Starting Time: 1 pm.
Awards and Prizes:
Awards go to the dogs that pull the most in each size category.
